UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Login and Profile
The KCP App is secure, your information will not be shared with any third parties. Once you are logged in, your login request will be pending approval. This is to ensure that only parents and carers who have experienced child loss are accepted into the App. Please be patient while this process happens.
While you are awaiting approval, we would love for you to fill in your profile, including one for your child or children who have passed. Unfortunately, you will not be able to access the search feature until you are approved.
Seach and Request
Once approved, you will be able to start searching for other parents and carers within your local area.
You can set the search distance yourself and select from the search options to focus on the people you feel most comfortable connecting with. For example, you can search for a mum who is 30 - 39 years old, who lives within a 10km radius from your home, who has spiritual beliefs, and has a child who passed at a similar age to yours. Or you can widen your search to include all parents and carers within your local area and connect as a group.
Once you have found someone you would like to connect with, you send them a connection request through the App. They will receive a notification and then be able to read your profile and notify you if they would like to connect. There is also an option to "take a break" while using the App which will remove you from searches but won't disconnect you from connections you have already made.
Connect and Chat
Once you have made connections, you will be able to easily navigate your connections via the Inbox and Chat screens. You will be able to upload photos and chat one-on-one or as a group.
My hope is that you will take these connections a step further and meet up in person, to share your stories, support each other, and build strong support networks in your local areas.
