Grief Support for Child Loss
Making Meaningful Connections
The Kids Connecting Parents App is designed to help parents and carers who are living with child loss to easily find and connect with each other in their local area. The concept combines the psychology of positive social connection, grief and loss, and shared lived experience with online geolocation and social networking functionalities to facilitate compassionate face-to-face connections.
The App searches from wherever you are, so it can be used at home or away from home. There are options for connection; parents can choose if they would like to find support or offer it to others, or both. To make a connection, simply search your area then explore the list of parent profiles that are listed, select the person or people you would feel most comfortable connecting with, then send a connection request to them. Once they approve your connection request, you can start chatting.
This is a unique opportunity for parents and carers to emotionally support each other. In the past 20 years, more than 586 million parents across the globe have experienced and are living with child loss. As a parent who has also lost a child, I feel we are all walking this bumpy road together, so let's connect and together we can strengthen our steps. The ripple effects of healing are far reaching and can carry through many generations.
